Small Group Bible Study

Defined: Who God Says You Are

We’re excited to bring a new series to our teens for our Wednesday Fall semester - “DEFINED: Who God Says You Are.” We will walk through Ephesians and study our identity in Christ.

“What you believe about your purpose and value impacts virtually every area of your life, including how you think and feel, the way you react to circumstances, and how you approach God and your relationships. What is guiding your core beliefs, and are they healthy and grounded on Biblical truth, or are they constantly changing to fit the opinions of others or your emotions?

Defined Bible Study features material for 8 small group sessions, with personal study between each group session. Explore the applicable Scripture that goes along with each lesson. Each session features a video with small group discussion and prayer.

Sessions include:

Sept. 1 — Uniquely Created by God

Sept 15 — Uniquely Broken by Sin

Oct. 6 — Transformed by the Gospel

Oct. 20 — Who We Are in Christ

Nov. 3 — What We Have in Christ

Nov. 17 — Living Out Our Identity

Dec. 1 — Walking in the Spirit

Dec. 15 — Walking in Mission

Please be sure your teen is here on Wednesday evenings and learning these valuable studies. We also welcome them to invite friends to join us! To further enhance their time in small group, please consider purchasing this study guide to help them learn more between sessions.

During our first study on September 1, we learned that “we are CREATED by GOD.” This revealed many reminders that God formed us and fashioned us for a specific purpose. We don’t want to let changing things determine our identity. We have to be careful that we don’t let feelings determine what we believe about ourselves.

Four Rights God Has to Declare Who You Are:

  1. He created you.

  2. God owns us.

  3. God has authority.

  4. God knows us better than anyone.

“God lovingly, intentionally, and wisely designed and made each one of us in His image on purpose for His glory. Everybody is God-planned.”

Parents, please commit to having your teen participating in this important study.

For our church body, please pray for God to use this time to reinforce a new generation who are facing uncertain times and a world that seeks to define them, outside of who God says we are.
