Vacation Bible School
Grab your parka and snow boots. At Morningside’s VBS, we’re headed deep into the stunning Arctic Circle! Be sure to pack your Bible—each night we will be learning all about that breathtakingly beautiful book that is filled with treasure and thrilling to explore. As we venture into the cold tundra, we’ll discover the BIBLE:
- Is the Book of Books, unique in every way!
- Has had an Incredible Impact upon our world!
- Is the Bedrock Base of our lives!
- Is a Letter of Love in which God tells us how we can become His children!
- Is Exciting to Explore as we learn it, love it, and live it!
Let’s plunge on in to this cold world and God’s wonderful Word!
On a Saturday in September, our whole church family and the community is invited for a great time of food and fellowship at The Pavilion from noon-4 pm.
We are asking all Morningsiders to bring a dessert plus, if your last name begins with: A-H (chips, & salad or cole slaw); I-P (mac-n-cheese); Q-Z (baked beans). Please put your name on all dishes.
The church will provide BBQ, hot dogs, buns, paper goods, condiments, drinks & all the fun. Also bring your lawn chairs. If you have any questions or if you would be willing to help with food set-up and clean-up, please contact Pastor Jeff Webb or call 864.297.7890.
Fall family carnival
Every year Morningside reaches out to the community by hosting a Fall Family Carnival as a safe alternative to trick or treating. This is a family friendly time for kids of all ages to enjoy getting all the candy Mom and Dad will allow!
Enjoy fun for the whole family including food and bounce houses in protected environment with only prepackaged candy items. Complete with activities for the children and a complementary hot dog dinner for the family, we are sure you will enjoy this time together. This is a great outreach opportunity. For more information or to get involved, please contact Blair Patterson or call 864.297.7890.
In October of each year, Morningside celebrates an anniversary of ministry dating back to 1958. We celebrate with a special speaker, good music, and a dinner together as a church family after the evening service. Usually our fall revival services begin on Homecoming Sunday with preaching from an itinerant evangelist. Please see our church calendar to find out when Homecoming is scheduled this year. For more information or to get involved, please contact Pastor Steven Huffman or call 864.297.7890.
In October we kick off our Gospel Conference with our annual Homecoming Sunday.
We want to reach out to the Greenville community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ as well as be challenged to grow in the Gospel as believers. For more information, please contact the church office at (864) 297-7890.
Missions Conference is one of the highlights of the year at our church. Flags are hung to represent past and present missionary partners and displays are setup in the lobby to familiarize our people with what God is doing in missions around the world. Our conference is in February and/or March and meets on two Sundays and the Wednesday in between. We hear from main speakers who challenge us about the work of missions as well as hear missionary presentations from present or potential missionary partners. One of the highlights of the conference is sharing the generous gifts of our Morningsiders with the missionaries presenting their ministries in the conference.
Throughout the year we offer discipleship elective classes to help equip families and individuals at Morningside in practical areas of life with teaching from God's Word. The classes are repeated. There are core discipleship classes that we would like for every church member to take eventually.
