Knowing the Will of God

Matthew 6:9-13 and Acts 9:1-6

1. The written will of God is termed "Scriptural will of God ". The unwritten will of God is termed what? answer- "Specific will of God"

2. What are some things to first do to find the unwritten will of God in matters of education, profession, living location, marriage, etc.?

answers- pray, seeking mature, godly counsel, discussion with those involved, checking the Scriptures

3. What 2 of the 7 general principles of the Bible are the hardest for us Christians in finding God's specific will?

answers- personal surrender and patience in waiting

4. Why are these 2 the most difficult for us as human beings?

possible answers- our sin nature, curiousness, covetousness, etc.

5. What kinds of authority are important when considering marriage?

answers- Scriptural, civil, parental, spiritual, military, employer, etc.

6. Why does God often reveal His will only a step at a time? Discuss this one about fear, being overwhelmed, lacking maturity to grasp what a whole road map of life would do to eliminate faith and growth steps.

7. What is the most subjective of the 3 final considerations when finally deciding on God's unwritten will?

answer- peace

8. What is the most needful thing for us to determine when considering our desires for something to be God's will?

answer- our motives for self-serving rather thsn God and others being served.
