MEMBERSHIP

Become a member

Membership is an important commitment of both the individual and the local church. It formalizes the obligation that church leaders have to provide oversight and members have to participate in service. Morningside offers two options for membership: regular and associate (for temporary residents). Please contact Pastor Steven Huffman with membership questions.

Membership is available to a child or adult who

  • is a professing believer with a credible salvation testimony.

  • has been baptized by immersion.

  • is walking in obedience with the Lord.

As a baptist church, we follow the practice of believer’s baptism. This is an outward demonstration of what God has done in our hearts to transform us into the image of Christ.

If you are interested in being baptized, please contact us.

You can become a member at Morningside by completing the following steps:

Step 1
Attend a Starting Point class (if age 13 or older).

Attend this one-hour class to meet, learn, and connect at Morningside.

Starting Point meets every 3rd Sunday at 11:15 am in the ODBM Conference Room (Room 231) unless otherwise noted.

You will meet Pastors Huffman and Ontoy and other new people who want to find out more about Morningside.

You will learn about Morningside's history, philosophy, and vision. You will be able to connect by making new friends and finding a ministry where you can serve.

After taking the Starting Point class, if you want to pursue membership, please complete the steps for church membership.

Step 2
Apply for membership in this order.

Step 3
Interview with a pastor.

The office will contact you to schedule an interview.

Step 4
Join the church family.

The office will contact you to schedule a join date.

Once you’re a part of our Morningside church family, we hope you will stay connected and serve with other members as we seek to love God, love each other, and love our world.
