God's Plan for Marriage

In his article, “The Communist Roots of No-Fault Divorce,” Joe Carter points out that in 1917, when Vladimir Lenin’s leftist revolutionaries took over Russia making him the dictator of the 1st Marxist state in the world, one of their goals was to “break down the traditional ‘bourgeois’ structure of the family in order to equalize the status of men and women.”

They began by making abortion legal and then instituting no-fault divorce.

Now in Russia, all you had to do was register at the Bureau of Statistics, and in 3 days your spouse would be notified of the divorce. The Atlantic called it “postcard divorce.”

The Bolsheviks regarded the family, like every other ‘bourgeois’ institution, with fierce hatred, and set out with a will to destroy it.

One leading Communist, Madame Smidovich, declared, ‘To clear the family out of the accumulated dust of the ages we had to give it a good shakeup, and we did.’

One historian said the result of being able to divorce in a matter of minutes on the request of either partner was chaos.

Men took to changing wives with the same zest which they displayed in the consumption of the recently restored forty-per-cent vodka.

Many cultural Marxists today continue the assault on God’s definition of a family and marriage as an institution.

Whenever God creates something for our good, for human flourishing, Satan does everything he can to attack it.

So as Christians we want to stand against a culture of no-fault divorce where broken marriages and broken families become the norm. At the same time, we want to stand with those families and children who are hurt the most.
