Academy of Arts Presents No Place to Flee

Imagine a world where your faith is a crime against the State.

Under the shadow of Soviet atheism, thousands of churches vanished, Bibles were hidden like contraband, and a whisper of prayer could cost you your freedom.

Sunday night July 26 the Academy of Arts presents No Place to Flee, a free drama telling true stories of Christians in Soviet Russia who were persecuted for their faith.

This is a FREE event open to the public. Children are welcome, but child care will be available through Grade 5. See the content advisory from the Academy of Arts:

In No Place to Flee we retell the true stories of Christians who lived in Soviet Russia and were persecuted for their faith… many to the point of death. They were believers who took the Bible’s advice seriously: they “considered Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself...” and DID “resist unto blood, striving against sin.” (Heb. 12:3-4)

In our portrayal, there are Soviet soldiers who beat up and scream at prisoners. They will have prop guns that cannot fire ammunition of any kind. They are made of plastic. There is a scene in which the soldiers carry three Christians behind the set and “shoot” them (sound effect). The goal is for no one to see the people get shot. The final Christian who is shot is dragged back out into the pastor's arms and dies there while trying to encourage the pastor to remain faithful. These are the truths and realities that have occurred to Christians around the world since Cain and Abel, and we want people to be aware of them and be encouraged to take a stand for Christ NO MATTER WHAT! We emphasize in the narration of No Place to Flee that the United States is the last bastion for biblical truth and religious freedom, and if we do not fight to maintain these…

there will soon be No Place to Flee for Christians who seek that refuge.

The Academy of Arts Drama Ministry Program will be with us July 26, 2026.
