In an area where Gentiles—or non-Jews—lived.
They had been with Jesus for three days, some had come a long distance, and Jesus said, "If I send them home, they will collapse on their way."
"We are not near a city. Where can we get enough bread to feed them?"
They answered, "Seven," and they also had a few small fish.
He told all the people to sit down.
He took the seven loaves, gave thanks to God, and broke the bread into pieces.
He blessed the fish and served them too.
The disciples collected seven baskets full of leftover pieces.
Four thousand men (plus women and children).
They got into a boat and left that place.
The Bread of Life.
Because only He provides forgiveness, peace with God, and eternal life.
Is Jesus God or a human?
As the Son of God, Jesus is both fully God and fully human.
There are many good things we may want that may not be what God knows is best for us, but He has promised to meet our needs, which will always be rooted in Jesus.
Jesus multiplied the food to bless the many and meet their physical needs, and His body was broken on the cross to bless many and meet our greatest spiritual need—forgiveness of sin.
John 1:18.
Henderson Hills Baptist Church.
Because only one percent of the people living there are Christians, and 481 million people need to hear that Jesus loves them.
Because God created everything, He is in charge of everything (Revelation 4:11).
Our sin (disobeying God) separates us from God (Romans 3:23).
Jesus took our punishment for sin by giving His life, and He gives us His righteousness so God sees us as if we lived the perfect life Jesus lived.
It showed that no ordinary human can multiply bread to satisfy a hungry group, but Jesus has the power to meet all our needs.
Hunger No More, Jesus' Broken Body, Gives Life to the World, and Live Forever.
False; only trusting in Jesus as our Savior will make us complete and take away the guilt of sin.
He shows us compassion daily when He cares for us and meets our needs, pointing back to His greatest act of compassion on the cross.
To serve as a daily reminder of how much God cares for them and is with them to meet their needs.
Joshua 1:9; Psalm 23:1; Psalm 86:15; and 1 Peter 5:7.
They looked at their surroundings ("We are not near a city") and their small amount of food instead of trusting Jesus' power.
It reminds us that God is always with us, He cares for us, and His power is more than enough to provide for us and satisfy our souls forever.
