Praising God's Works (Dr. Josh Crockett)

Praising God's Works to the Next Generation

Psalm 145

1. Multigenerational Praise

  • How often do you praise God in front of the younger generation? In what ways could you be more intentional about this?

 2. Passing On Praise, Not Just Knowledge

  • Are you more focused on educating the next generation or showing them how to exult in God’s greatness? How can you cultivate a heart of joyful praise that others can see?

 3. The Testimony of Older Generations

  • When was the last time you shared your salvation story with someone younger than you? How could your testimony help others rejoice in the Lord?

 4. God’s Goodness in All Circumstances

  • When life is hard, how do you remind yourself that God is still good and worthy of praise? Can you recall a time when praising God in the storm brought peace?

 5. Transparency About Sin and Redemption

  • Are you open about your past failures and God’s forgiveness with younger believers, or do you tend to hide your struggles? How could transparency about God's mercy encourage others?

 6. Declaring God's Mighty Acts

  • What specific “mighty acts” of God can you declare to the next generation, either from Scripture or from your own life? Have you made time to do this?

7. Trusting God's Tender Control

  • Do you struggle to trust that God is in control, especially in hard times? How can your trust in God's sovereignty be a testimony to the next generation?

8. Humility and Compassion in Conversations

  • When speaking to younger believers, do you display humility and compassion, or do you come across as judgmental or prideful? How can you change your approach to build bridges?

9. The Cross as the Greatest Act of God

  • How frequently do you talk about the Cross and the redemption it offers when speaking to younger generations? What impact could focusing on Christ’s sacrifice have on them?

10. Preparing the Next Generation for the Future

  • Are you actively involved in mentoring or teaching younger people in your church? If not, what steps can you take to begin passing the baton of faith?
