Following Jesus the Christ
We all face different questions in life. Some are simple like: “What will you wear today? What will you eat for lunch? What will you do tonight?”
Some of life’s questions are complex & cannot be answered: “Why do women open their mouths when they put on eye makeup?”, “Why do men refuse to stop & ask for directions?”, “If nothing sticks to Teflon, how do they make Teflon stick to the pan?” and “What was the best thing before sliced bread?” Those are enigmas of the universe.
Many of you are facing life’s important questions: “What is God’s will for my life?”
“Who will I marry?” Or “How will I keep my marriage?” Or “How will I live, after losing my spouse?”
“What should I do for a job? Will I have enough money to retire?”
“What will I do if the doctor says, ‘Cancer.’?”
But this morning we’re going to see that there’s a question that’s more important than these questions. A question so foundational, it helps answer each of these questions.
In this morning’s text, Jesus asks,
“Who do you say that I am?”
