Following Jesus for Your Soul
What is your most prized possession?
· Did you know the world’s most expensive TV is called the Prestige HD Supreme Rose edition. The outer frame is gold with diamonds and the inner frame is alligator skin. The cost is a mere $2.3 million.and it only has a 55-inch screen!
· A billionaire recently bought a 1962 Ferrari at Sotheby’s for a cool $48.4 million.
· Which is 100k less a gold-plated Falcon Supernova iPhone with a pink diamond for $48.5 million.
· Or maybe you’re into watches. You can buy the Chopar Imperiale watch for $90.6 million. With 10 carats of diamonds, it’s also water-resistant to 50 meters, if you want to jump in a swimming pool with this on.
· If you’re an art lover, you can own a Jackson Pollock piece called Painting #5 for $140 million.
We saw last week that Jesus says in v. 34, “Don’t live your life for phones & TVs, for cars & watches & art. Instead, be willing to deny yourself, take up your cross & follow Me.”
Why? Now He tells us in v. 36. Because you possess something that you should prize above all else… Your eternal soul.
