“Big Bob” Roberts spent many years as an evangelist for children and teens.

He served at The Wilds Christian Camp as an assistant director of the junior camp program for over two decades.

He’s also the author of the kids’ curriculum we used for many years on Wednesdays.

Since 2019 Bob has served as the pastor of Word of Life Slavic Baptist Church of Spartanburg.

In October of 2023, Bob was diagnosed with colon cancer. As his prognosis worsened, Bob gathered some longtime friends to start a podcast called “Dead Man Talking.”

Using the honesty and humor that have connected him to kids around the country, Bob and several of his lifelong friends discuss hope and faith in the face of cancer and death.

Bob will preach to us at 5 PM on March 15 and March 29. We hope you can come.
