Giving to Missions
Here’s a story about teaching a women’s class from Renee, our ODBM missionary in Asia–we can’t use her real name:
I have always taught [my classes that]...
“Abram was worshipping idols along with his family… How would your family feel if you left your idols and family and village to believe in God?”
These ladies knew exactly how Abraham felt. They truly did have the same faith as Abraham.
“They call us crazy,” one lady said, shaking her head.

Missions is so important to us that we dedicate a tenth of our regular spending to it.
Our general budget provides part of that funding. Each month some of our general spending includes missions. Some of it is general missions, and some of it specifically supports our own mission board ODBM. Through our staff and our facilities we do even more.
Much of our missions funding, though, comes straight from from our members. Many of our members go above and beyond their regular tithes and offerings to support our missions fund. Some of them also support our mission board directly.
