DECEMBER 3, 2021

As the Thanksgiving holidays started, so did the final phase of our gym renovation. On November 12, a group from Bob Jones University’s Basilean Society came to remove our old floor. What a blessing! Then the wood arrived November 15 for two weeks of humidity acclimation. On November 29 installers began working. The gym should be ready to use again in January—we’re tentatively planning an open house on January 16.

Storage Shed

Since the church has increased our garages with the purchase of the new properties we have been able to move or combine our storage. Which means the church no longer needs the small shed in the back parking lot. We are willing to sell at a very small price for anyone willing to move the shed off the property. The size of the shed is 12’ W x 16’ D x 8’ H. If you are interested in purchasing/moving the shed please contact Pastor Stuhl at 864-297-7890 or tstuhl@morningside.org.

JUNE 25, 2021

It’s much brighter and less noisy in the gym! This past week new LED lights were installed in the gym. Another exciting part of this new installation is that the lights turn on right away!

JUNE 17, 2021

Exciting news! The gym has a fresh coat of paint and the beams are stained a beautiful, rich brown color. The doors have been painted to connect the church from the outside to the inside. Please be praying as we try to keep schedule to finish phase 1 this summer and stay within budget.

June 11, 2021

We started painting the gym on Thursday with the scoreboard and sign coming down. The new colors look amazing! We are so blessed to be able to start another renovation project. All of this is able to be accomplished by the building funds you dedicated to the beautification of our church building.

June 8, 2021

While VBS is roaring this week we have been able to start the Gym renovation have completed putting in the windows today. The painting of the gym will begin on Thursday, June 10th. We had the electrician in today to give us an estimate to put the new lighting to be installed next week. Lord willing we will have the gym painted, windows and lighting installed by the end of June. Please pray as we finish these upgrades the final phase of the gym will be the wood floor, to be installed December 2021.

We included some more pictures of the Morningside sign on All Star Way that was completed a few weeks ago. Also, we have included some of the new HVAC units being installed last week on June 1st.

May 20, 2021

Much has been accomplished this past month and all thanks goes to our wonderful Lord. The Chapel renovation is complete except for some track lighting over the pulpit. The new Morningside side sign has been installed on the side of the building. We re-sealed and painted lines in the front parking lot. Thankfully, after 20+ years the church’s exterior stucco and green roof is getting a fresh coat of paint to match the new front sign.

We were able to replace all of the canned lighting with LED lights, repair the ceiling, and remove the chandeliers/sconces.

January 21, 2021

*Update on Building Repairs

The painting is done in room 107 and the bricks are set in place. Thankful for a fast repair!

The bricks and drywall were put in this week and looking forward to the room being painted this coming Monday.

In mid November we had an unfortunate accident where a motorist ran into the west side of our building. Fortunately no one was hurt and the car owner’s auto insurance will cover the repairs. We wanted to update you that the repairs have started this week and pray they will be completed within the next few weeks. Clyde Rector who has been at Morningside a long time will be the contractor working on the repairs. If you have any questions please contact Pastor Tom at 864-297-7890.

Flooring & Roof Completion

The new flooring in the Children’s Wing provides a nice clean environment for our children. We started on Monday, November 16th but are waiting on the cove base to come in next week. Thank you to all who are serving in our Children’s ministry, especially the Cropsey family.

Our chapel rooms now have a beautiful floor to host the Spanish family events. The bathrooms will also be getting updated sinks.
