BAM Retreat Update
ODBM hosted its first Business as Mission (BAM) Retreat in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. Eleven college students and young adults enjoyed getting away and learning about BAM through informative general sessions and interacting with missionaries who are doing BAM. We pray that God will raise up more "BAMers" to advance the Gospel for the glory of God.
BAM Retreat
Planting Seeds
ODBM is hosting its first BAM (Business as Mission) Retreat in beautiful North Carolina April 9-11. Pray for young adults to catch a vision for the Unreached and commit to living On Mission. Business is a powerful tool to penetrate the darkness with the Light of the Gospel and transform lives for God’s glory. May mission seeds be planted that will result in laborers going to the harvest fields.

Morningside Missions News
PRAY for Myanmar
The situation in Myanmar is going from bad to worse. Missionaries report that the recent military coup has caused much unrest and great concern. Criminals are wreaking havoc and seem sponsored by the military and police. Many are suffering! In recent years the Gospel has advanced in great ways by national churches sending national missionaries through open doors to make disciples, baptize new believers and plant brand new churches among Unreached People Groups. Pray for God’s protection, for peace and for doors to remain open for Gospel advancement in Myanmar!
Indonesia Missions Project
The missions project for our 2021 Missions Conference is to help the Liauws build a gymnasium (cost: $40,000) on their Borneo campus in Indonesia which is home to a church, orphanage, Christian school and Bible college. Please give to help make disciples in Indonesia and train the next generation to reach Unreached People Groups.
HOPE for RENO
Morningside and Open Door Baptist Missions are excited to serve the four families of the Hope for Reno team as they strive to plant churches in Reno, Nevada. They are currently praying for a total of 32 adults (to make a team total of 40) to join them in reaching Reno with the Gospel. Please pray about how God would have you to partner with them and visit their website (below) to learn more.
Pete LaFond (1941-2021)
Pete and Betty LaFond joined Morningside in 1980. Pete was a native of New England who came to Christ through a home Bible study.
A few years later, an outreach visit to the Greenville County jail grew into Pete’s missions burden. Soon that burden became reality as Victory Prison Ministries.
Pete would visit men and women who were incarcerated at various SC prisons and distribute Bibles that had been donated for his use. In recent years, he started a program where inmates could take Bible courses.
Through Victory Prison Ministries, many men and women were saved and dedicated their lives to the Lord. Pete passed away on Sunday, Feb. 7. At Pete’s request, no funeral services are planned. We sorrow with Betty and rejoice that Pete is with the Lord.
