Have you ever been with someone who was about to die? Their voice is weak. Their breathing is shallow, strained. Their feet are cold. There’s a rattle in their throat.

People at the end of their life, don’t usually talk about the weather, do they?

Or who Clemson is going to play Saturday. There’s usually very little small talk.

People who are about to die, usually talk about the things that matter most to them.

And this is what we see Jesus doing in John 17. He’s concerned about holiness. Specifically he talks about His Holy Father.
